Brandenburg Gate is the former city gate and now one of the most well-known landmarks of Berlin and Germany. The key door to the city, enclosed by the wall for thirty years, was recognized throughout the world as a sign for the division of the city and for the division of the world into two power blocs. Today's global guests to Pariser Platz come to re-experience this first gateway to the city, and to take pleasure in the long-denied freedom to walk through this wonderful work of art and look at it up close.
